Hello, my name is Kate Griffin and I work with couples and individual adults.
I have experience of working with a broad range of problems and difficulties including the following:
I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative). I studied with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy (CPTA). The awarding body was the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
I studied an Integrative Counselling Diploma which means I studied the following different theories: Person Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis.
During counselling sessions I use a person-centred approach, meaning the sessions are what you want to discuss, and together we will explore your concerns and difficulties. I also draw on the other theories mentioned above as appropriate. This helps to offer the right individual support to suit the different needs of each client.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Best Practice.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS).
I hold an Enhanced Certificate with the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
Certificate number: 001539462768
My certificates are held at my private practice and available for you to view.
I am a firm believer in continuous professional development (CPD) and therefore frequently attend short courses and workshops to learn new skills in counselling and improve my knowledge.
